SAARC Expert Group develops operational plan
(2006-2010) for first SAARC Regional Strategy on HIV/AIDS

The second SAARC HIV/AIDS Expert Group Meeting was held in Dhaka on 22-23 April 2006 with APLF support. The meeting focused on preparing a detailed operational plan (2006-2010) of the first SAARC Regional Strategy on HIV/AIDS endorsed by SAARC Leaders in November 2005. A total of 31 participants from Member States, representatives of UNAIDS and its cosponsors participated in the meeting. Mr. A.K.M. Zafar Ullah Khan, Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Bangladesh inaugurated the Meeting. The detailed operational plan was approved by the SAARC standing committee meeting in July 2006.
